If you use a Proxy Server turn it off and try again. I had the same problem before disabling my Proxy Server.

I am having the same issue currently. I have the newest version downloaded, but my spotify account was not connected anymore suddenly so I had to reconnect. Status stays on waiting, I can find On The Spot in the devices on the Spotify app, but it never connects it seems. (And I am not using a proxy server, as suggested by liberatorcnx)

You're doing one better than me, the devices option does not appear for me at all in my settings on desktop. Only on mobile. Currently banging my head against the wall bc I feel dumb for not being able to find it, but also wasn't the devices setting removed from desktop back in like 2017?

I have the exact same issue. I find OnTheSpot in my Spotify devices but it doesn't connect. Stays on "waiting".
Tbh I'm super green so I don't actually know if I enter the code correctly in the terminal. I put command echo then it asks for my password. After that I put command sudo and nothing happens.
Also I'm not using a proxy server. My settings haven't changed and it was working a week ago. I use a VPN but I tried logging with and without...
I'm desperate

Are you using the latest release released in the past few days? This resolves the issue.
