Aggrid customization

Hi, I am trying to get comma separators to appear in my AgGrid and can't figure out how to specify a custom formatter like they are showing in their documentation:

This is what I'm trying, but it's showing the function definition like in the screen shot. What am I doing wrong?

Have you found a solution to formatting values? Same as you describe above, I have not been able to get valueFormatter to work...
