New AIS Catcher version supports Meteo data from AIS Super Buoys

Here's one of the buoys that is transmitting Meteo data via AIS.

And here's the latest Windows Edge AIS Catcher displaying the weather data.

Is anyone else receiving these types of signals from buoys? I am sending the data from ais-catcher into OpenCPN but it doesn't show the weather data and aiscatcher.org doesn't show it either (yet?).

There seem to be 2 AIS meteo data info pages coming from the South Rock buoy. One page is the tidal current, though this is displayed in AIS Catcher as wind, as can be seen below.

I might have a look but one buoy can share data for multiple locations. Are you saying there is an error in interpretation of some messages where fields are mixed?

Possibly is an error, yes. Though currently, I don't think the wind is accurate but there are a number of these super buoys around Ireland so it would be interesting to be able to see the data on them live for forecasting and passage planning purposes.

I did have a look at the stream you are sharing. And I see for example this in the UI:

It comes from this message:

I don't see an immediate issue in how we translate data from the message to the UI. But, have no idea how accurate the measurement is.

This is btw the South Rock ATON. Your link is very cool: https://cilpublic.cil.ie/MetOcean/MetOcean.aspx but does not contain South Rock. Wish they have this for other countries as well. Perhaps I need to add to the aiscatcher.org map.

The South Rock is faulty in some way so their twitter feed says, and yes, that's just another link to the same data.

Maybe it is the wind data that doesn't seem to be accurate, it seems to be higher than forecast and higher than local weather stations on wunderground.

I'm surprised there are no others of these in the world! Irish Lights leading the way then!
