You have received a port and ip address from MarineTraffic (private). Let's say the port is 1212 for the sake of argument. Then:
You can also try sending via TCP:
If this does not work, best to reach out to folks at MarineTraffic for support as I suspect the port is not properly set up for you? |

There must be some weird issues going on with marine traffic. I have been sending data for a few years and it has just now started to not show boat positions correctly. Using aiscatcher.org the boats are in the correct position but marine traffic is incorrect. I am reaching out to see if I can message marinetraffic tech support |

Ok, I checked in my area and noticed a ship picked up every 10s for which MarineTraffic consistently reported other stations as source (all comar) with the message being stale for 3 minutes or so and apparantly ignoring my more up to date reports. Have asked them if they ignore my data if there are other MT equipped stations in the area. |

MarineTraffic's sorting algorithm operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The station with the greatest coverage sees the vessel first, so other stations reporting the same vessel are ignored.Wysłano z programu Outlook dla systemu AndroidOd: Jasper ***@***.***>Wysłano: piątek, sierpnia 15, 2025 5:36:27 PMDo: jvde-github/AIS-catcher ***@***.***>DW: Subscribed ***@***.***>Temat: Re: [jvde-github/AIS-catcher] How to send data to MarineTraffic? I have tried to send AIS data from SDR radio via AIS-catcher to MarineTraffic:
AIS-catcher -u 5.9.207.224 JSON on (I got that from MarineTraffic)
I tried it with JSON on and without. I can send to aiscatcher.org, and it works!
Should I add the station ID somehow?
Has anybody tried it?
Tnx for any help.
