Registry with PodMan

I am moving away from Docker to Podman, so have uninstalled Docker desktop in Mac

Performed below steps

podman build --format=docker -t apache/airflow:2.3.3 .

k3d registry create --default-network podman mycluster-registry
The k3d registry create step has failed

Error

FATA[0000] Failed to create registry: failed to create registry node 'k3d-mycluster-registry': runtime failed to create node 'k3d-mycluster-registry': failed to create container for node 'k3d-mycluster-registry': docker failed to create container 'k3d-mycluster-registry': Cannot connect to the Docker daemon at unix:///var/run/docker.sock. Is the docker daemon running?

When working with Dockert below steps works fine

--Build the Airflow Image with DockerFile
docker build . -t apache/airflow:2.3.3

--Setup a local image registry to load airflow image
k3d registry create myregistry.localhost --port 12345

--Upload Airflow image to a local image registry
docker tag apache/airflow:2.3.3 k3d-myregistry.localhost:12345/apache/airflow:2.3.3
docker push k3d-myregistry.localhost:12345/apache/airflow:2.3.3

--Add registry to local knows hostnames
Usually at /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 k3d-myregistry.localhost

k3d cluster create --registry-use k3d-myregistry.localhost:12345 -c k3d.yaml --wait
