How

• Keep darwin until completely end the security updates (~2028)
  I prefer this way. I want a macOS installed device for fallback and iCloud purpose.
  Even if stay on macOS, it might be better to remove develop environment such as home-manager.
  Having multiple config and CI is a large cost.
• Install other OS
  Less benefit. I have another laptop now.

Next

• New device of macOS?
  I only have interest for Mac mini.
  However I only use macOS for testing build of nixpkgs in these years

Apple has discontinued support for the x86_64 (Intel) architecture going forward. GitHub will no longer support this architecture on macOS after the macOS 15 runner image is retired in Fall 2027. We expect to drop support for x86_64-darwin by Nixpkgs 26.11

Keeping nixos-unstable and dropping darwin might be a good choice: #1311

Even if switched to macos-15-intel, the runner is still much slow. It is reasonable because the hardware is not updated.
