Batch export images as layers?

I have like, 200 files, which are all 40 layer fits images, that I want to export, each as 40 different new fits files. The feature to batch export as layers, doesn't seem supported currently, but I could be missing something. Right now, Im just opening every file as layers so ill have one image with like a thousand, and then when Im done, ill export everything as layers. This is annoying though, and I frankly dont think I have enough ram for this. Feels like it would be easier if this was implemented as an option. It may already be possible and just not clear though

edit: yeah gimp just crashed, I do not have enough ram to do this nor enough time to go 200 times and export them all

Hi, this is possible, but it's currently quite clunky and not very flexible.

You should be able to achieve this as follows:

1. In Batch Convert, go to Add action... -> Add custom action...
2. Find plug-in-batch-export-layers.
3. Before adding it, uncheck More options -> Enable for previews.
4. Adjust the parameters as necessary.
5. Add the action.

A couple caveats:

• This will export layers to the same output folder, regardless of the input image. I.e. there is no way to set a different output folder for each input image.
• The input images themselves will also be exported. I will make it possible to disable the default image export in the next version.
