how to add negative and positive to DC

i want to make an electrical circuit can you help me for it

This is very confusing because the line connecting DC and LED seems to be representing two wires: + going to LED and - going back. It would be nice if LED also had a positive and negative connector so we can see the positive and negative wires separately.
