Have you added a jumper to position JC at the rear of the Gotek. That is in addition to the jumper at position S1. This is necessary for correct operation with an IBM PC compatible. |

Ah ok I understand now about the jumper. As for the geometry for other IMA format I only have the tool to create them but no idea about the CHS info. Do you think it would be possible to add the LS-120/240 format to FF on our Gotek? Best Regards. |

Hello,
I am having trouble with 2 Gotek 415, 3x7 segment screen + 2 buttons.
I am using them both on old computer like ASUS P2B-F etc for DOS, 3.11, w98, etc
They were working perfectly with the USB floppy manager 1.4 software out of the box with all 1.44Mo I could get or create myself with ultra ISO then use the manager software to put on USB sticks.
I just wanted to "upgrade" to larger IMG, IMA files like 2.88MB or more up to 120MB (LS-120) or 250MB (ZIP) which I still use phisicaly with those devices to boot and install software faster than 1.44MB regular floppy.
So I folowed the "how to FF" for initial flash, solder a 2 pin header on both goteK then use an USB A-A cable to connect to PC and use flashing tool
All that went smooth and successfully flashed with FF 3.43.
I didnt moved the jumper at the back and tried imediatly one of the Gotek but I can select IMG / IMA files, screen show up numbers 000 to 0xx, I get error selecting large 120MB files so I removed them from USB Sticks. but after that I can not boot from selected IMG nor read it.
when I type "dir a: " I see the red light flashing on Gotek but PC almost imediatly answer "Not ready reading drive A Abort, Retry, Fail? "
I tried adding FF folder, adding FF.CFG alone in USB stick root or in FF
I tried setup FF.CFG into IBM PC or PC-DOS or unspecified but nothing works
always get the same message on my P2B-F, or other motherboard, I even tried to setup Motherboard in 1.44MB instead 2.88MB and read only 1.44MB IMG / IMA files but nothing works still the same.
When I move the Jumper to JC instead of S1/S0 (A: or B:) the green light stop turning on and PC is much slower to give me the same message error.
I also tried to flash one GOTEK with the FF_Gotek-bootloader-3.44.upd or flashfloppy-bootloader-3.44.upd then corresponding FF_Gotek-3.44.upd or flashfloppy-3.44.upd.
but still the same.
I am handicaped and have very bad eyes so reading all discussion here took me almost a week and not I am not finished.
I hope someone can help me fix that soon or help me go back to old GOTEK original system.
Best regards.
M.N.
