Akai S950: Format stays at 0% even with correct FF.CFG and JC jumper #989

Description

Hi, I’m using a Gotek SFRKC30.AT4.35 with FlashFloppy v3.42 on an Akai S950.

I have the following setup:

interface = shugart
host = akai
display-type = oled-128x64-rotate
nav-mode = native
nav-loop = yes
twobutton-action = zero
eject-enabled = yes
extend-image = yes
sound = yes
autoselect-file = yes
image-on-startup = last

Jumpers:

S0 → installed

JC → installed

J5 → tested both installed and removed

USB stick: 4 GB / 16 GB (tested both)

Image used: .img 720 KB (737280 bytes)

Problem:

When I try to format the image on the S950:

The Gotek display shows that the drive is writing.

The S950 completes the format process with no error message.

But after completion, it still shows 0% or UNFM%, and the disk is not usable.

I have verified that:

The interface and host settings in FF.CFG are correct.

The JC jumper is installed (as per wiki recommendations).

I have tried with J5 installed and removed, no difference.

I have tried different USB sticks.

Question:

Is there any known issue with FlashFloppy 3.42 and Akai S950?
Could this be a timing issue, or should I try v3.43 beta?
Any other recommended jumper configuration for Gotek SFRKC30.AT4.35 on S950?

Thanks a lot for this amazing project and any help you can provide!
