Lagging while typing

What happened?

Hello,

I have a big vault with just a few md files litered throughout. I set up FE++ to pin filter all **/*.md files to the top of the folder list, and hide filters for cluttery **/*.lyx~ and temporary **/#*# files. Works great!

However, when I have this plugin enabled, I notice every few seconds that typing has a ~1-second stutter in responsiveness. It's similar to a lag over an ssh connection or remote desktop. It's consistent and persistent.

What did you expect to happen?

Smooth typing in notes. Instead it's stuttering every few seconds.

Can you reproduce the bug, if so how? As detailed but minimal as possible.

When I disable FE++, the lag goes away. When I re-enable it, it's immediately back. This is true even if I disable every other plugin.

Other?

Interestingly, if I disable FE++, the pin icons change shape and lose their color, but all the hide and pin filters still work as though it's still enabled (!!!). So now I just enable the plugin to configure things, then disable it, and the typing is smooth as butter again. Very strange! Does Obsidian already have this functionality and FE++ is just exposing it?

Update: Not sure why it originally continued working after disabling before, but now it no longer does that. When I disable it, all the filters stop working as expected.

Update: still stuttering. I wonder if it's possible to have the filter only check the visible trees / files when filtering; maybe this is the bottleneck step? Or maybe the background updating can be run with a lower priority than obsidian so the typing / ui is still smooth?
