Description
I don't know why or where the issue is, and before I went down that rabbit hole, I took a chance and just used electron-builder to package it as an AppImage file, which ran perfectly (even a bit more responsively, if you ask me).
Thoughts about offering AppImage files (one each for Dark and Light themes) on the Releases page?
