Auto-test for speed/duplex auto-negotiation for SFP ports #1064

Description

Infix supports enabled Ethernet interfaces to use auto-negotiation of speed/duplex.
We have tests for this on copper ports (#976), but lack tests for SFP ports.
In addition, for SFP ports we probably have uncertainties of how Infix should behave wrt auto-neg for fiber and/or copper SFPs, so there is some investigations needed first. (Out of scope for this test issue, but for info there is also a wish for configurable auto-neg, including support for multispeed fiber SFPs, see #805)

Proposed test (to be discussed)

  • Test with 1G fiber SFP and with 10G fiber SFP. Same type of SFP on Infix and on PC (or perhaps let this be with Infix to Infix). Result should be link-up with 1G-full and 10G-full respectively.
  • Test with 1G and 10G copper SFPs on Infix. Remote could be PC with 10G. Configure the PC for permutations of speed and duplex modes. One way is to only advertise one mode, e.g., 10G-full, 1G-full, 100-full, 10-full, and 1G-half respectively. Test that Infix negotiates to the advertised mode.
