Dojo version

Hello, I don't know if I should post general questions on the issues list, but I don't know where to ask. So, I apologize if this is the wrong place.

Does dojango work with any version of dojo? I want to use the latest (1.8) version. If not, is it too hard to build a django + dojo without dojango? Maybe if I RESTify my application?
