What are the A, B, C boxes for?
Cannot see any reference in the documentation, unless I am blind!

Advance Button.
On some of the 'Normal' heating controllers I install, advance works both ways, namely starting the schedule early or to end it early.
Currently it works as the former to advance the schedule.

Could it be easily changed to do both?
Currently I have to turn off the 'switch' that controls my combi boiler.

A, B, and C was something I hacked in to help someone out with their automations. Basically these are arbitrary values you can include on a node in order to use them for automations. When a node is triggered by the scheduler an event is emitted which can be used as a trigger on an automation. An example would be that they could set A to reference on or off for a humidifier, B could be the humidity target, and C could be fan speed. It definitely needs to be documented.

Advance should be exactly how you've guessed, if you click it then it should advance the schedule to the next node. So if you usually get home at 5pm and come home at noon you could skip the five hours of cold and get a head start on being comfy. The same does hold true though as it will always advance to the next node so if you go out for the night after 5pm it'd go to the end of that period to the next one.

For your instance you could have an automation that monitors for A to be 1 or 0 for example and switch your boiler that way. Does the boiler not switch on automatically when any of the physical thermostats call for heat though or is this an extra energy saving setting?
