Exclude specific objectId from query results?

How do you exclude a specific objectId from query results. This is what I'm trying to do so far, but it is not excluding the objectId in the $_uid var.

  query = query.filters('NOT objectId:$_uid');
}

Nm, had objectId, not objectID
