Stream stalls after some time

My setup:

• Digital Devices "Octopus" SAT>IP receiver (both DVB-S and DVB-T)
• TVHeadend server, integrating channels from this with a good EPG setup etc
• Kodi and TVH PVR, mostly running on Google TV devices (Chromecast TV, Google Streamer)

The symptom; after streaming a channel for some time (no pattern that I can determine, but usually happens within half an hour or so), the stream will freeze up and glitch; often audio will continue while video freezes; eventually I get the timeout spinner. Switching away from the channel and switching back seems to resolve the issue.

As far as I can tell, other TVH clients (eg: DreamPlayer) don't exhibit the same issue, neither does viewing via TVH's own web client.

How can I go about debugging this? Can I find logs somewhere?

More information needed (Kodi version, OS, tvheadend version etc.). See https://kodi.wiki/view/Log_file for where logs are stored.

Kodi: latest Android version (installed from the Google Play Store)
OS: Android (Google Streamer)
TVH plugin: likewise the latest from the official repo

TVHeadend: 4.3-2538~g67f98d620~trixie
OS: Debian Linux (AMD64)

Extracting logs from the GoogleTV device is tricky; will see if one of the third-party file explorer tools can do it.

So, an interesting data point. This happens regularly and reliably on the Google TV Streamer, but not on the "Chromecast with Google TV" (ie: the previous generation of Google's standalone streamer box).

I seem to recall that the main difference between these boxes from a streaming application perspective is that audio passthrough is handled differently? Does anyone know of a way to extract logs for diagnosis?
