On MacOS, fresh install of kitty is flickering while resizing?

Hi! I just downloaded Kitty and was very excited to use it. However, I immediately noticed that kitty is constantly flickering when I resize a Window. MacOS's default terminal has smooth rescaling. This is happening in the plaintext bash shell (and all applications as far as I can tell).

Resizing within kitty

What configuration do I need to do to stop this? I saw posts about it here: #4395
but that seemed to be application specific!
