Since support for CRDs was introduced, we never added scale and perf tests for this feature although it would be very beneficial since this feature has its own logic. The idea would be to add it on top of the original scale testing effort: #1341.

Since #1813 has been introduced, we can now test custom-resource-state-metrics independently from kube-state-metrics so we could potentially write scale tests where only the CRD part of kube-state-metrics is run.
