Description
Problem statement
Today, if a customer or our ops unintentionaly delete a cluster, they/we have no way to recover certain resources.
What is the current state, unmet need, or symptom?
- There is no prevention mechanism to try and prevent unintended deletion
- There in no established recovery procedure or mechanism.
- Users asking for a cluster to be recovered.
- No disaster recovery capabilities.
Who is affected?
- Cluster owner
- Kyma org
- Customer developers
When and where does this problem occur?
- During automation implementation.
- People running scripts written by somebody else.
- People just deleting custers for whatever reason.
- Hyperscaler region outage.
Why does it matter?
There can be serious data loss or application outage without a recovery mechanism that will affect Kyma reputation.
Disaster recovery is a standard capability requested by customers.
