Number of magnets

Hi.
I have now prepared a RB PI setup for my water rower "Viking 3 Plus"
It comes with 6 pcs. magnets.

At the first test it was clear that it more than "doubled" up the distance.
I can certainly remove a number of magnets, but isn't it best to have all six pieces for greater precision.

What to do next ?

Hello,
check that you have changed numOfImpulsesPerRevolution to reflect the number of magnet you have installed.

Also adjust flankLength, for 4 magnets, i set it to 10 ( 10/4 = 2.5 rotation of the wheel ).

Hi,

I have a slightly different model from First Degree Fitness, a Neon Pro V - sightly larger tank and five water levels. But it also has six magnets, so my configuration should work on your setup. Take "neon pro v.txt", add it to config.js within the "export default {....}" section and restart the ORM service.

You mentioned " it more than "doubled" up the distance." Compared to what? The rower's own computer?
Did you hook up the Pi to the rower's sensor or did you install a sensor of your own? If so, is it a reed switch or a hall sensor?

I am really new to this.

Could you describe how to insert your script?
(Step by step!!)
I am familiar with connecting RBP to PC using Putty.
But I lack in ability to write the right commands to open the config. js

I connected the Pi to the rower's sensor.
And I have done any adjustment yet !
Regarding the distance, it where compared to the rower's own computer.
Maybe not an exact statement, but that's how I remember it.

when you installed ORM did you answer 'yes' to

"Do you want to create a samba network share to simplify access to training data and configuration?" ?

If you did you should be able to edit the config via Windows. That would simplify things a lot.
If you did not I would recommend to re-install ORM by re-running install.sh and this time answer 'yes' to the question/item above when it comes up during the installation.

Are you familiar with finding a samba/CIFS share on Windows? Right click on "start" icon (bottom left hand corner), left click on "explorer", left click on "Network" within the left hand pane (assuning you are using Win10). Does this show a folder that contains "Configuration" and "Training"?
