Question&Answering with metadata search

Hi, Any idea of getting the Q&A retrival working with metadata search. For example, I have a dataset having column name Text, ID, Date in "YYYY-mm-dd" format.
Now I want to retrive all the document when search "show me maximum cases which has date greater than 2022-01-01 and less than 2023-01-01". Wondering if anyone can help me with this. Things I have tried-

1. Adding the date as a metadata but with the above query it doesn't return anything.
2. Split the date in year, month and day format then added these info as an intger to metadata and tried searching with above query. This also don't seem to be working.

Please let me know, if anything doesn't make sense here. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
