Recursive Write

In my customized state, I have a state variable which is a dictionary, the key is id and the value is an object. Is there a way to "deep write" over the object values based on the node returned dictionary?

For example, I have state

class Item(BaseModel):
      id
      name
      item_description
class registrationState:
      items: Dict[int, Item]

Upon the item returned from an arbitrary node as the format {items: {item.item_id: item}}, I am hoping that if the item already exits in the registrationState.items, it only writes values from the new item (in dictionary). This is equivalent to upsert. Is there a way that I can do that?
