Clarification on Cron Job Execution: Cloud or Local System?

I’m currently exploring the langgraph_sdk and wanted to clarify how cron jobs work in this context.

If I create and schedule a cron job using the SDK on my local machine, and then shut down my system — will the job still execute? Or does it rely entirely on my local runtime being active?
In other words, are these cron jobs:
Executed in the cloud (e.g., managed infrastructure from LangGraph or integrated platforms)?
Or do they require the local system to be up and running at the scheduled time?
