Steps to reproduce

Some users are unable to update their model credentials due to the outdated provider name.

Before version 1.0, the provider was listed as openai, which is incompatible with the new format langgenius/openai/openai.

✔️ Expected Behavior

All the users can update their model credentials

Modifying model credentials can fail if the provider name in your database uses the old format (like openai) instead of the new normalized format (langgenius/openai/openai). The current Dify codebase expects provider names in the normalized format for all credential operations, and does not automatically migrate or handle legacy names. If your provider_name is still openai, credential update logic will not find it, causing errors or making the credential invisible in the UI and backend [source].

There is no automatic migration for provider names in the database. To fix this, you need to manually update any legacy provider_name fields to the new format (langgenius/openai/openai) and ensure credential_id fields are correctly linked to valid credential entries [source]. This will restore the ability to update credentials for those providers.
