Description

Final validation of recovery methods using real experimental data from VENUS.

Approach

Since ground truth is unknown for real data:

  1. Use independent measurements for validation
  2. Compare to bulk sample analysis
  3. Check physical consistency (abundances sum to 100%)
  4. Cross-validate with different methods

Validation Criteria

  • Physical consistency: Abundances in valid range
  • Spatial coherence: Results make physical sense
  • Method agreement: Different methods give similar results
  • Uncertainty: Reported uncertainties are reasonable

Test Data

Real experimental data with severe sparsity from VENUS instrument.

Tasks

  • Select appropriate test datasets
  • Apply each implemented recovery method
  • Compare results across methods
  • Assess physical consistency
  • Document findings and recommendations
  • Create validation report
