Can we compare VPIC speed

Can we set up a test with VPIC and compare it with other PIC codes like EPOCH, WarpX etc? We can setup some simple 2D or 3D test where we irradiate simple flat target with the laser.

Let's start with the 2D for example.

• domain - 30x30 microns
• cell count 1500x1500
• let's take simplest case of hydrogen target, 1 micron thick, 20 microns wide in the middle of domain, initial temperature 10 keV, electron and ion density 8.5e21 cm-3.
• 100 ppc for ions and 100ppc for electrons
• laser intensity 1e20 W/cm2 (or 2.74e13 V/m)
• laser intensity focal width FWHM 3 microns
• laser field shape sinusoidal 60 fs (which is 30fs FWHM in intensity)
• 300fs final run time
