Migrations schema in postgres

changing migrations table in config->database to 'migrations' => 'general.migrations',

and running php artisan migrate

schema "general" does not exist at character 14 (Connection: main, SQL: create table "general"."migrations" ("id" serial not null primary key, "migration" varchar(255) not null, "batch" integer not null)

How can I create schema before running migrations?
