STL file cannot be opened when the voxel size is small.

Hi!

I tried the code, and it could work well - the heat exchanger can be displayed on the screen and an stl file can be exported. My issue is that when I change the voxel size from 0.5 to 0.1, the stl cannot be imported to other CAD software. As expected, the volume of the file is hug - over 12GB.

How to solve this problem when I want to have a fine model?

If the voxel size is large, the STL file is OK and TGA files are also OK. I have tested with voxel size = 1.0. If the voxel is small, not only the STL file can not be opened, but also most TGA files cannot be opened - only the first two TGAs can be opened.

Depends on what printer you are targeting. For SLS / SLM, a voxel size of 0.2 to 0.3 is totally fine. For FDM prints, you can target 0.4 .. 0.5. 0.1 is very fine, and, as you noticed, the resulting mesh gets very large. But depending on the print prep software, 10GB mesh is not an issue.

Hi Lin,
I noticed that at certain locations, the fins are overhanging. Initially, I thought this might be due to low accuracy, but the issue persists even with a voxel size of 0.2. Do you think this could be improved?
