"Can't read from HASP device driver" error

Hello and thank you for this wonderful projects.

I have a program from 2002-2006 years and its working with HDD32.exe driver. It require haspnt.sys file loaded. But after Windows 10 1703 version this file gives bluescreen. Also it only has on 32bit Windows as you know. I have original dongle and multikey file. Software is very basic and small but require haspnt.sys loaded. I tried your haspnt64 on Win10 64bit but its giving "Can't read from HASP device driver" error.

Actually its 32bit software. But its setup files is 16bit. =) Setup works with your NTVDMx64 but actually this software doesnt need setup. Just copy folder from another computer and just run. If it see dongle on 32bit windows (multikey or real dongle) its works.

Do you have any suggestions for my to try ? Or I stuck at VMWare for 32bit Windows. :(

Hi,
As you mentioned that it's 32bit Software, I guess you took the "full driver" approach from this repository.
As this project is mainly for DOS applications, your 32bit application simply may not be supported by my hastpnt driver as it just supports the bare minimum required for most DOS applications.
If you took my driver, ensure that you took the test signed driver and run Windows in test mode, as the leaked driver certificate that I used to sign the driver is long blacklisted by Windows in the meantime, so the driver won't load which may lead to the error.

If you want to emulate it, I guess MkBus is your best choice.
It is hard to tell what the issue is without having a look at the software, so in case the tips above do not help, don't hesitate to contact me and send me the application and the dongle dump so that I can try to reproduce it on my machine and have a look, if you want. At least I can get an impression, which calls the software uses.
