Just downloaded 8.0 and I'm glad it supports high-res displays but it doesn't seem to respect Display Scale in Windows. I've got mine set at 200% so the Laragon app looks extremely small and it messes with the new icons. Here's a screenshot with the normal-sized text of the website in the background. On my screen the tiny text at the bottom ("Laragon - The Dev Environment for Entrepreneurs") is so small that I almost can't read it: Also, is there a way to change the database backup directory? I changed my Data directory in the settings to a OneDrive folder so it would back up all that in case my computer crashes, but perhaps it would be better if I could just keep the backups on OneDrive.... |

I’m feeling quite lost regarding the Laragon website and the project itself. Could someone clarify the current direction?
Will this pricing model continue with each new version? Initially, I thought Laragon 7 was a lifetime license, but with Laragon 8, it seems like we’re actually paying for major versions, not the software itself. Is that correct? I’m launching a YouTube channel, and my first video is about setting up a development environment. Naturally, I’ll start with Laragon 6 since it’s the free version. I was even considering reaching out about an affiliate program—perhaps offering my viewers a small discount while supporting my channel. However, without clear pricing details, I’m struggling to explain how the paid versions work. It’s unfortunate because I’d love to present Laragon transparently, but at this point, I might have to simply mention that Laragon 6 is free, while newer versions require payment, without going into specifics. Could someone provide clarification on these points? |

The v7 non-commercial license I purchased on Jan 29 is good for all upgrades, including major versions, for 5 years. I downloaded v8 and overlayed v7 (after backing up the Laragon v7 folder) without any issues. Running v8 now, with all parameters, including license, php version, MySQL version, etc the same as I set them on v7. Very smooth upgrade. Ron |

I have just installed Laragon 8.0.0 250314 on a Windows 11 laptop and it seems to be working well - it's very fast. The only problem I have experienced so far is with phpMyAdmin. I installed it via Menu → Tools → Quick add, but when I click on Menu → MySQL → phpMyAdmin it doesn't open. Instead, it opens https://forum.laragon.org/topic/98 in my browser with a link to https://github.com/leokhoa/laragon/discussions (this forum in general). It also doesn't add itself as an option to the Database button. Other that that, it's brilliant! Thank you, Leo Khoa! |

I understand the need for a commercial model and the use of pop-ups to "encourage" people to pay. I was on Laragon 6 and fine, but decided to try Laragon 8 because "If you're using the free Unlicensed version, a reminder popup appears when starting Laragon or launching services." Why do I get a pop-up reminder every 30 minutes or so, and it keeps opening my browser. I was fine with the pop-up when starting services or starting Laragon, but why pop-up while I am in a presentation? Now, I might have to downgrade to Laragon 6. Yes, I know $10 is a small amount but why is the pop-up so aggressive? |
