Cannot run playwright tests

Hey, I'm currently looking into Tailwind examples in a cloned version of the Leptos repo. I managed to setup everything and then successfully run the example in the browser. After that I ran npm install inside end2end directory and then started leptos end-to-end without changing anything in the existing code, but it gave me the following output:

Caused by:
    0: Could not spawn command "npx playwright test" at `/Users/mateusz.kwiatkowski/.cargo/registry/src/github.com-1ecc6299db9ec823/cargo-leptos-0.1.8/src/command/end2end.rs:49:10`
    1: No such file or directory (os error 2)

Additionally, after ending leptos watch the port 3000 was still in use and I needed to kill it by myself.

I would appreciate any help or hint what's wrong.

If I run

cargo leptos new --git leptos-rs/start
cd [name_of_project]
npx playwright install
cargo leptos end-to-end

It builds the app and then runs the e2e tests. You should be running cargo leptos end-to-end from the root directory of your app, not from the end2end directory (slightly unclear to me from the way you put it).

Not sure what else might be missing from your experience.

Hi Greg, thank for replying. To be clear: I have run all the command from the root directory (in this case ./examples/tailwind). I have deleted node_modules from my previous npm install in end2end directory and then ran npx playwright install from the root directory but it gives me the same error when I want to run end to end tests.

During installing of playwright I saw following output:

To be honest I don't know what I else could be missing. The other odd thing is that after running cargo leptos end-to-end port 3000 is always occupied, so that before running that command next time, I need kill whatever process is running on that port. I would expect that if playwright can't start, the port get freed automatically.

Oh you know what? I hadn't tried it on the tailwind example. I get the same exact result you do and I don't know why. If I open two console tabs, and run cargo leptos serve in one and npx playwright test in the other, it does work (although the tests fail 🤦 )

I'd suggest maybe opening an issue in the cargo-leptos repo.
