Interest in Contributing to a Reviews Lexicon

Hello Lexicon Community,

I'm Ajay Lakhani, Director of Engineering at Bazaarvoice, and I'd like to express interest in developing a "Reviews" lexicon for the community. I'm seeking a Technical Steering Committee member to sponsor a working group for this purpose.

Identified Need
Many applications in the atproto ecosystem would benefit from a standardized way to represent user-generated reviews. I have worked extensively with ratings and reviews within the industry, and I believe the atproto community could benefit from a standardized schema in this domain. Currently, there is no common schema for reviews, which limits interoperability and feature development across applications.

Potential Scope
The Reviews lexicon would provide a standardized way to represent user-generated reviews for:

• Products
• Services
• Media (books, movies, music)
• Locations/businesses
• Experiences

Initial Considerations

• Key components that seem valuable to include:
• Rating scales (1-5 star system)
• Review content (text, media attachments)
• Subject identification (what's being reviewed)
• Verification indicators (e.g., verified purchase)
• Review metadata (timestamps, categories)

Draft Implementation

This draft implementation includes:

• A complete lexicon schema
• Example review records for different domains
• Documentation on usage and integration

If there's interest from the Technical Steering Committee, I'd be happy to participate in a working group to develop this lexicon further. My experience with review systems could provide useful insights to the working group.
