Require a file on submissions #92
Description
To make Musical Artifacts more helpful for everyone, I suggest that the website requires a download link on all submissions, significantly reducing end-user confusion.
Listings are only useful if they include a working download link to the artifact being promised. Without a download link, end-users may read about an interesting idea, and be disappointed that there is no way to try it out, because there’s an implicit expectation that submissions are usable items and not simply concepts for others to implement.
To implement this, a validation at submission time for a functional link or upload could be added (including a 200 response), ensuring that the end-user is reliably able to download the item. If the community has alternative ideas of ensuring that artifacts uploaded to the website are usable, then hearing these perspectives would be helpful.
