I would also like this to happen, as I'm seeing deprecation warnings on PHP 8.1 related to the Serializable interface. These are fixed in upstream phpseclib.

I've been able to work around this through composer, with:

  "require": {
    ...
    "liamdennehy/http-signatures-php": "^11.0",
    "phpseclib/phpseclib":             "~3.0.0"
  },
  "replace": {
    "liamdennehy/phpseclib": "*"
  }

There don't seem to be any differences between the fork and upstream that cause issues.
