Less aggressive "donate" button

Hello,
my problem is that the markdown logo is a bit to aggressive.

which is generated via this markdown code:

It is like a command: "Donate!" (or die). It is not polite.

I would prefer to delete the "Donate" string and add something like

• Liberapay
• Support
• Support me on Liberapay
• (or something else)

The Ko-fi button in the screenshot is a good example I think.

There still might be some other svg files on your server. But I am not allowed to list the content of https://liberapay.com/assets/widgets/. And your logo page does not list that files.

I would accept a patch that adds one or more alternative buttons.

You can also simply make and self-host a custom button. For example https://www.peppercarrot.com/ currently has a custom Liberapay button alongside other custom buttons for other donation methods.

Thank you for your reply. Where can I find the (svg?) source of the current button and which font is used in it?

Like any SVG, you can view its source code by opening it in your browser then opening either the developer tools (Ctrl+Shift+I) or the page source (Ctrl+U).

Looks like there is no need to create a new SVG but just modify this spt-script, what ever this is? Simply replace "Donate" (line 13) with something else?

Sorry, I am out of expertise here. If it is that simple than why not just use this spt-script to provide some alternative icons/logos on your "logo" section on the liberapay website? https://liberapay.com/about/logos

We can't just make significant changes to a button that people have integrated into other websites. What we can do is to create one or more alternative buttons.

The Logos page is only about the logos themselves. The buttons and other widgets belong in https://liberapay.com/about/me/widgets/
