Perhaps Flutter on Desktop could be used to create a desktop app based on the mobile app’s codebase. I’d love to see a desktop app together with a way to only play mobile/desktop app users. This would eliminate the most common form of cheating (browser plugins) and poor sportsmanship (letting time run out by starting a new game in another tab), which are negatively affecting my lichess experience every day. |

I know it's not exactly an app-oriented API, but if mobile can have apps for it, why not the desktop?
Windows, Linux and Mac. Probably using Electron or something.
All we have is this one, which wasn't updated in almost 5 years:

It would be kind of cool if Linux at least had a Flatpak. That way GNU Chess finally technically has a competitor.
