secPrefix after the section number

I started using pandoc-crossref for writing a book. I have a question or maybe feature request regarding secPrefix. In English, sec. 1 is fine, but in my language, it can be 1章 (or even 第1章). Is it possible to put secPrefix after the section number?

Yes, IIUC you want secPrefixTemplate.

secPrefix works, but secPrefixTemplate doesn't on my environment. I'll look into it when I have time, and might ask you another question. Thank you anyway.

seems to work with both html and tex:

第\ref{sec:1}章

❯ pandoc -F pandoc-crossref -t html test.md
<h1 id="sec:1">Foo</h1>
<p>第1章</p>

Where this breaks is with cleveref tex:

❯ pandoc -F pandoc-crossref -Mcref -t latex test.md
\section{Foo}\label{sec:1}

\cref{sec:1}

You'll have to use cleveref's commands to set up your references, see cleveref docs. Particularly, see section 8, especially \crefformat and \Crefformat.
