Issue Installing

Ok. I am still very new to this. I think I missed a step in the installation process:

1. I downloaded the file:
   wget https://github.com/lightninglabs/chantools/releases/download/v0.14.1/chantools-linux-amd64-v0.14.1.tar.gz
2. I downloaded:
   wget https://github.com/lightninglabs/chantools/releases/download/v0.14.1/manifest-v0.14.1.txt
3. I then went through the verification process but got an error at this point:
   $ git verify-tag v0.14.1
   fatal: not a git repository (or any parent up to mount point /)
   Stopping at filesystem boundary (GIT_DISCOVERY_ACROSS_FILESYSTEM not set).
4. I applied ./chantools --help and received -bash: ./chantools: No such file or directory

I obviously missed something here.

You need to download the source first before you can run git verify-tag. So try the first two steps of this part: https://github.com/lightninglabs/chantools?tab=readme-ov-file#compile-from-source

bash: ./chantools: No such file or directory means the file doesn't exit. Did you run through all steps in https://github.com/lightninglabs/chantools?tab=readme-ov-file#installation?

Just want to let you know that you can also run chantools on a different machine, it doesn't have to be your Umbrel. So if you're more comfortable running it on Windows, that's an option too (the tool doesn't need to interact with your node directly).
