Overview

As part of our 2025 update and simplification of the LSX Design System and LSX Design (LSD) theme, we are proposing a review and refinement of the following:

Slug Naming Convention

Task:

• Review current slug naming convention used in the LSX Design Block Theme.
• Propose a simplified and consistent naming convention for 2025 going forward.
• Ensure LSD and LSX Design use the same slug format.

Notes:

• Ensure compatibility and future maintainability.
• Update documentation or references if slugs are changed.

Colour Palette Simplification

Task:

• Reduce colour palette to the following:
  • Primary Colours (x5 max)
  • CTA Colour
  • Neutral Colour (e.g. Grey/Off-white)

Notes:

• Remove redundant or legacy colour variables and classes.
• Update theme.json and relevant Sass/SCSS files.
• Review default color classes in blocks/templates.

Section Styles: Light & Dark

Task:

• Define and implement clear section styles for:
  • Light Mode
  • Dark Mode

Notes:

• Ensure consistent usage across reusable blocks and sections.
• Consider adding utility classes or theme styles to enable easy switching.

Shadows

Task:

• Remove all custom box shadows unless critical.
• Use a minimal, predefined shadow if necessary (e.g. single shadow token for depth).

Acceptance Criteria

• New slug naming convention proposed and implemented.
• LSD updated to use same naming convention.
• Colour palette reduced and updated in design and theme files.
• Section style blocks for light/dark are implemented.
• Custom shadows removed and replaced (if applicable).
• All changes documented.
