Not sure if you are referring to resource usage or DE components count. If the latter case, it depends on how many DDE components are installed by default when install DDE from your distro. deepin will install all of them.

Well, simply set the wallpaper in each DE, it should work fine with other DEs like GNOME and XFCE for example. (I don't think KDE and DDE can co-exist for now due to deepin-kwin is conflict with the original kwin).
