Hi Nirob, Thanks for the detailed feedback. Let me answer your questions now 🙂
Yeah, it's a known issue, which is planned to be addressed in the future.
I'm not sure if it's known, but if it's not, please consider create a bug report (via the built-in Deepin Home app or GitHub).
“Search image with Google Lens” is a feature exclusive to Google Chrome that we are not able to use. If you need more Google features, please consider use Google Chrome instead.
Do you know any place that its popup and/or dialog is not consistent with the system theme? If so, please provide detailed feedback (screenshot, etc) so we could know where exactly should us look into.
For sizing and hiding behavior, these already exist. For sizing you can resize the dock by drag-and-drop the border directly. For other dock settings please check the context menu of the dock/taskbar. The Control Center app should also contain the same settings as well. We are unlikely to allow users to customize the spacing tho.
This is already the default behavior, or did I miss something?
These suggestions are valid. Thanks for the feedback 🙂
I assume you are trying out our Wayland compositor named Treeland, to be clear it's still in the Tech Preview stage so the performance might not be good. We still suggest using X11 session currently.
Some of the features are already supported via UOS AI (and can also be accessed from Grand Search. Some of the features might be implemented in the future. Please keep an eye on it. Also, since MCP is supported, you can also bring your own MCP extensions to make it work with UOS AI as well 🙂
This is currently not planned. I'm not sure if we will implement digital wellbeing in the future, please keep an eye on it 😉
There actually is a tool for such purpose but the Android client is not yet open-sourced, at this moment, you can use KDE Connect under deepin if you like. Thanks again for your feedback! We will continue working on improving deepin based on user suggestion 😉 Best regards, |

Dear Deepin Development Team,
Thank you for your thoughtful and detailed response to my earlier email. I appreciate the effort your team puts into improving Deepin and would like to follow up with more specific feedback based on both personal use and suggestions from the wider Deepin user community.
Occasionally, UOS AI responds in Chinese despite the system being set to English.
Deepin Browser also sometimes defaults to Chinese search suggestions or results.
I suggest verifying localization consistency across AI features and browser defaults to ensure a seamless experience for non-Chinese users.
“Search image with Google Lens” is missing from the Deepin Browser’s right-click context menu, unlike Chromium-based browsers. This feature is highly useful for visual lookups and productivity.
UI suggestions:
Ensure dark mode consistency across all system dialogs and pop-ups.
Add more dock customization options (icon spacing, size, hide behavior).
Improve the notification center, enabling grouping by app and easier dismissal.
To match the power of macOS Spotlight, I suggest the following improvements for Grand Search:
Inline previews for documents, images, and videos
Quick actions, e.g., calculator, definition lookup, sending files
Natural language queries, like “Find documents from last week” or “Show files over 100 MB”
System Overview:
CPU & GPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G (Integrated Graphics)
Kernel: 6.12
GPU Driver: Mesa 24.3
Display Server: Wayland
Performance Observations:
Occasional screen tearing, especially during multimedia tasks
Minor lag or stutter when switching workspaces or running heavier applications
Elevated idle power usage compared to other distros on similar hardware
Optimizing performance for AMD APUs would greatly benefit many users with similar setups.
Deepin’s UOS AI is promising. Here are some ideas to improve its utility:
Smart desktop actions: “Summarize this file,” “Extract images,” “Translate selected text”
Task summary sidebar showing emails, meetings, deadlines, and app activity
Natural language file handling, like “Organize last week’s files into a folder”
A built-in feature for personal well-being and focus management would be useful:
App usage tracking and reporting
Break reminders (Pomodoro-style or customizable intervals)
Focus mode with temporary notification silencing
Please consider enhancing the Deepin-to-Android ecosystem, similar to KDE Connect or Apple’s Continuity:
Seamless file sharing between PC and Android
Clipboard sync, notification mirroring, and remote control
A Deepin mobile app to manage these features
This would greatly improve productivity and provide a more unified user experience for Android users.
Thank you again for your continued development and for listening to community feedback. I’m looking forward to seeing how Deepin continues to evolve, and I’d be happy to participate in testing or discussions if needed.
Best regards,
Nirob
