Hide buttons without Blizy's Toolbar?

Near as I can tell, you can hide a button, but only when Blizy's Toolbar is also installed. Otherwise, the button selection screen doesn't effect the buttons.

Would it be possible to make it to hide buttons without Blizy's Toolbar?

looks like a dupe of #21 (or vice versa)

Hiding does work without Blizzy, but not until a game restart, and there are weird follow-on bugs when you're in that state before the restart.
