balance and blend functions in libcvc dont work after enabling upmix

Hello,
after i enabled upmixing via pipewire client.conf file to upmix from any stereo-only capable client to 5.1, the sliders in the cinnamon built-in mixer (cinnamon-settings sound) to control the balance of front/rear and left/right dont work any more. only the overall volume slider still works.

The problem happens whether the client is a pulse audio or pipewire client. Examples are Firefox, Stawberry or Audacious.
I checked the python source for the Cinnamon mixer and its using libcvc, so the problem is probably there.
