Wayland version spontaneously reboots upon turning monitor back on

Bug description

Hello, just want to report a problem that appears to be exclusive to Cinnamon and Cinnamon only. While using Wayland, if I press the power button on my monitor (Dell S2721DGF) to turn it off, it reboots instantly upon pressing the power button to turn it back on.

No warning -- no errors -- no output or anything else, just literally upon pressing the power button to turn the monitor back on, the system completely crashes and goes back to the bootup phase

I installed Plasma Wayland and Gnome Wayland alongside it, just to see what happens, and the problem appears to be non-existent in those and turning my monitor on simply resumes the session as intended

Steps to reproduce

Run Wayland version
Press power button on Monitor to turn it off
Then press power button on Monitor to turn it back on
System spontaneously reboots

Expected behavior

Resume session as usual
