This is a dead project that has been annexed by toxic devs. A new contributor has been sabotaging the repo and calling the code malicious and stolen. https://github.com/lllyasviel/stable-diffusion-webui-forge/commits?author=parsee-mizuhashi lllyasviel hasn't been involved with the project since these insane accusations from comfyui team have been fired. I wouldn't expect he'd have enthusiasm when other projects are leveraging their fan base to harass him and tell him he's stealing open source code and posting malicious content. |

I am not claiming the entire forge repository is malicious / stolen. I claim that the "google" "blockly" components are stolen and/or potentially malicious. [the ones responsible for flux realism] My PR should explain why believe this, but, in a few words: same variable names mentioned as a comfy repo [and never used in any other sd related repo], obfuscated code in a free and open source repository, very suspicious functions mentioned in the obfuscated code.
If you mean the initial "Forge Does Not Use ComfyUI Code" claims [in which comfy states that they believe lllyasviel stole code from comfyui], lllyasviel had continued it. For some reason [which I can only speculate on] lllyasviel has not made any more commits for a while.
Is he stealing open source code? Yes. Please read the PR before assuming I state that "the forge code is posted with malicious content". |

Perhaps the author might feel disheartened because many of his projects are magnificent and open-sourced for use by ComfyUI, yet some followers of ComfyUI have repeatedly harassed him, even though it is merely a free, open-source project. He should not abandon this great project; there are always some troubles on the road to success. |

I get insane flashbacks to the spaghetti horror of the DAZ Studio shader builder. I don't want to go through that learning process all over again with Comfy. Forge/Auto suits my needs. I do a setup and full quality render in DAZ Studio using my 5+ TB library, import my render into Forge IMG2IMG, generate multiple variations in several different checkpoints I like, then import the whole stack in layers into photoshop and get to work on my XP-Pen pro drawing monitor. Erasing blending, merging until I get the final image I like. I don't have the time or patience to learn comfy. |

Comfy Dev himself as well as the swarmui dev, have repeatedly called lllyasviel's code "malicious" like he's trying to put cryptominers onto people's machines. The source of the snake like attention isn't from "fanboys". To get it right, you must accuse the authors of projects that are in the same space as lllyasviel's projects. @parsee-mizuhashi is a comfyui mole. Highly likely to be personally connected to comfy anon themselves. |

"Comfy Dev himself" I always believe a competitor. No, I don't. I will never use comfy. While it may be nice, it has a VERY steep learning curve and after years of using a similar "spaghetti" type system in DAZ shader builder there's no way in hell I will use comfy. Forge does what I want it to do and that's all I need. |

ComyUI is actually easy. Its not really that hard. Its made out nodes, you connect nodes to do what you want. I started to use more ComfyUI over forgre, main reason with 1 click i can generate, upscale, use control net and remove background with Quele button. Arraging nodes in such way to make it automated. Saying it has steep learning curve is up to discussions. Also you can disable lines if that is the issue to you. Lines where there for visuals to see what goes where, You should take comfyUI nodes "as is", save preview means it will save to "output" file, Preview will show you picutre (save in temp folder) but will be deleted on relaunch of comfyUI, |

I have no clue what's going on. All I know is a lot of updates were being plotted out, we got a minimal implementation of Flux, then almost nothing since. Even the latest commits are pretty small things that affect almost nothing. One thing I don't like is when they created "Spaces" and moved stuff there that they seemingly didn't have the inclination to add directly to the UI, effectively being like a Forge version of the Pinokio app. The problem with these though, is without integration, they're not worthwhile to use. You get Photomaker v2 in the app (which broke and stopped working a while ago), but you can't actually use it with anything but the default model, not with controlnets, not with any specific settings like samplers, etc. Spaces also adds a few normal models, but they're ironically worse than DSINE-normal, while also not being able to be leveraged directly in controlnet or the main UI. And DSINE-normal isn't even in Forge, even though it's in A1111. I wish they had kept working on Forge. I still use it, primarily for the memory management system. I hate ComfyUI, it's really just a bloated non user friendly interface, which often breaks. A1111 hasn't been updated in a long time either, and its main failing is the lack of memory management. I know it can be hard to keep up with supporting newer stuff, especially when they'd be soo far behind, because a good 3-4 diffusion model types have released in the last little while, so to be fully up to date they'd have a lot of catching up to do, and that'd also be on top of adding features that were planned but not yet implemented. But I'm happy they at least had the addition of using GGUF models. Without that, a lot of the current and future capabilities of forge would be soo far behind that it would pretty much assure that forge is forgotten entirely. But controlnet in forge has always had issues that need to be fixed, that ironically don't generally exist in A1111 controlnet. I hope they do come back to updating forge in full force eventually, but I can also understand how passions can wane and how tedious the work can be, so it wouldn't be a big surprise if they didn't. Naturally, stable diffusion is top heavy with users and light with programmers, and now that things have been built up over the last few years, things have calmed down, to where you're not really getting something new and amazing popping up every day or every week. Still stable diffusion is very usable in forge, so it's not the end of the world, but progress in the stable diffusion community overall has slowed dramatically, almost to a screeching halt. ComfyUI may get updated pretty often and have tons of nodes, but much of it is pretty poorly implemented, and I will never bother to use it. It's really an over rated application, and the main reason why it has any following at all is because it typically gets support of newer things first. But if a true successor to SDXL/Flux comes out, Forge will pretty much evaporate. It's already out of the AI video segment altogether, as SVD is very obsolete now, and was never that great to begin with. |

One thing I DON'T like about Spaces is I use pure chromium for my SD workflow but spaces opens in my google chrome browser as it's my default. I tried them but ended up just uninstalling. Nothing worth using that I can't do with other tools either inside forge or in my other graphics software. |

If you do a search on lllyasviel on Google you can see that this person has been harassed very often in general. (This is from this summer) https://x.com/MEGUjuke/status/1811065072355344568 He is definitely a genius but there is no denying that this guy has received heavy pressure. Also remember, Ic-Light V2, many people even now are still trying to contact him to get the weights and still have no news. He is a person who does almost everything on his own, the ComfyUi team on the contrary from what I understand is a group of people who also do this as a main activity. The most constantly updated UIs at the moment are Comfy, Swarm (which I find absolutely cumbersome and not very intuitive), and actually there is also Vlad Diffusion - SD.Next, does anyone remember it? Well it's still up today, I'll try that tonight and see if it's improved since last time. |

Update: Just finished testing Sd Next/ Vlad Auto. Terrible experience, everything complicated and cumbersome like SwrmUi, maybe even worse, Forge remains the best. |

Comfyui team constantly attacks this project. It's honestly so disgraceful and is a huge culture rot in the image generation field. It speaks so loudly towards the integrity of those working to make the tools in this field. People are acting like children. Lllysaviel created controlnet for stable diffusion and constantly gets harassed and attacked. The fanboys around comfyui are the biggest instigators of this abuse. I feel that they've been pushed out of the scene and I wouldn't blame them if they never offer any new updates or projects. Creative energies are best not wasted and an orchestrated campaign against a creative can be quite demotivating. The worst was the accusations of malware. |

Honestly, if I were Illyasviel, and it were possible, I would released a better, updated controlnet completely incompatible with Comfy due to these constant attacks. This is just one of these reasons I have come to hate the opensource community over the last 10 years after being an avid supporter for some times before that. |

Woudln't even need to make it incompatible. Just release it under a modified license that says "releasing this code for use with the comfyui project is a strict restriction" If they want to use software licenses to abuse other projects, then that same legal framework can be used back at them too. It's disgraceful that comfyui has GPL trolls going around trying to accuse other UI creators of malicious releases. |

License is GPL on comfyui , Forge and Automatic111. Swarm uses MIT, instead of complaining about few people trying to push their own agenda, i would recommend to ignore them. |

The creator very much seems to take a lot of time creating large scale changes and doesn't generally do "iterative" updates. Take the update after Flux released for example. It was a huge overhaul, going to Gradio 4. They have stated that the next update is one where they would like to utilize Gradio 5. Their commits show they have been hard at work daily on an unlisted project. On top of this, they have published a research paper with other devs. You can view it here. So no, this project is not dead. People always love to say that. But it is not true. |

Is there any info anywhere about the updates/addons he does to forge and what does these updates/addons actually do? Several things added last weeks but no clue what they are and how they are suppoded to be used.
