FINALLY got SD3.5 on Forge

Like many Forge users, not being able to utilise SD3.5 has been crud, as like many others, I'd rather not wrestle with ComfyUI.

I found the following page by accident the other day and tried out installing on Forge, expecting it not to work, or be plagued with error messages.

Remarkably it actually works and I can now run Stable Diffusion 3.5 Large and 3.5 Large Turbo from within Forge. The Forge community has given me a lot, so thought I'd share the link to give something back to the community. I am not the developer so don't start asking me any technical stuff.

You need the later version of Forge, as you need to install clips and also the SD3.5 VAE. The smaller SD3.5 Medium doesn't appear to work, but having used that version on ComfyUI, the output is not as good as SDXL.

The only reason I used ComfyUI was to be able to use SD 3.5, otherwise it was Forge all the way. I have never been able to run SD 3.5 on Forge, until I installed these files.?

Ahem, in February, SD35 support was introduced in Forge without the need to install patches.

Despite having the latest Forge updates and a recent fresh install (thank you Windows 11 - not!), I have never been able to get 3.5 to run on Forge. Surprisingly these patches resolved that.

The downside is that despite having high hopes for SD 3.5 on Forge, further experimentations has shown that what takes 17 seconds a generation on ComfyUI using Large Turbo, actually takes 30 seconds plus per generation on Forge, using exactly the same parameters. We know that ComfyUI is marginally faster with SDXL and Flux, but with SD 3.5 that time difference is quite significant.
