[clang-format] regional style options

We already have a way to control clang-format from within the code itself:

// clang-format off
// clang-format on

Which disable all formatting. This is a very big hammer, sometimes I just want to disable certain formatting options, or just change how something is formatted for a chunk of code.

I think it would be nice if we can specify clang-format style options in code annotations.

i am asking to change clang-format options for certain region of code. the issue you linked is asking to ignore certain option for existing code. i don't see any connection here?

so, i was thinking something like an extension to the existing clang-format on/off annotation. for example

// clang-format push
// clang-format AlignArrayOfStructures: right
...code...
// clang-format pop

would change AlignArrayOfStructures for the region of code enclosed in the push/pop pair.

What you wish here IMO is incompatible with the design of clang-format. IIRC, similar requests have been filed before but rejected. WDYT @mydeveloperday ?
