Question about using this project as a base

I've been spending some time working with this codebase lately, and after quite a bit of development, it has changed significantly, probably around 80% of the code is different now.

The project is still in active development, and I’m planning to release it on the Play Store and App Store in the future. Before moving forward with any store release, I wanted to check whether you’re okay with me using your work as the foundation for that.

I also wanted to mention that I came across your note about preferring MediaCodec (#10 (comment)) a bit late, so for this version I ended up using FFmpeg directly instead.

The project will be fully open source once it is released. At the moment, I’m working on it locally while development is still ongoing.

I really value the work you’ve done here. If you would prefer that I not use your project as a starting point for a store release, please let me know. I’m happy to respect your decision and would start a new app from scratch instead.

Hey,
As the project is licensed under the GPL, you're tehnically free to do whatever you want with it, as long as you release the source code.
However, I would prefer if you stick to the core principles of the app (free, no ads, lightweight and fast).
