Getting the web interface going?

Hi All,
Im rather confused and lost. Im using platformio with marlin generic. I've configued everything it says to for getting the web interface working, but whenever I browse to the device i just get a 404.

I cant find any doco that goes beyond "add this to configuration_adv.h", and so forth (all the stuff from here: https://github.com/luc-github/ESP3DLib).

I tried an uploadfs with platformio, which resulted in:

"mkspiffs_espressif32_arduino" -c data -p 256 -b 4096 -s 1507328 .pio/build/esp32/spiffs.bin
error: can't read source directory
*** [.pio/build/esp32/spiffs.bin] Error 1

So I then created a data directory in the root and just copied the index.html.gz file into that directory..

That did upload something, but I still get a 404. I feel like i've missed some documentation somewhere that explains how to get this part working, but im completely lost trying to find it.

Any hints would be handy and thanks in advance!

what board are you using ? what operating system are you using ?
you do not need to use mkspiffs and actully the data content directory of Marlin is not esp3d webUI but the Marlin one

The esp3dlib has an embedded page that will allow you to upload index.html.gz

ESP3DLib is based on ESP3D, it is a lib companion for Marlin and ESP32 based board, the webUI is same between ESP3DLib and ESP3D and basic commands are also identicals, the link about EST3D I gave you was for reference only as it has the screenshot and upload method

when you access embedded page in ESP3DLib you have a link to esp3d webui repository
can screenshot the page you have ? there are info on it that may allow me to understand why your upload is failling

Also I still do not understand are you using a printer board based on esp32 - or a simple esp32 board connected to your printer board ?

Well, I did figure out at least part of my issue. Marlin seems to want everything under www in the filesystem, but as far as I can tell theres nothing to actually do the build for it (or I've missed something with platformio). I was getting the very generic chrome 404 page, but at least now im getting this screen, but i think i understand why that is now:

And yes, Im using a printer board based on esp32. Having read about the esp3d firmware I realise its just a bridge between a printer board and wifi. So Im guessing I need to make marlin+esp3dlib+esp3d-webui work for what im trying to do. But, im designing my own board rather than using an existing one. My current iteration of the board only has an esp32 module on it and i've not put any other components in place so in a way its just a raw esp32 module at this stage.

Ok, so after a bit of configuration and changing things around, I now have a functioning web interface and can upload the index.html.gz directly to the board.

if you use esp32 based board you do not need esp3d just Marlin with ESP3DLib library enabled
So yes marlin+esp3dlib+esp3d-webui is right
